📖 Scripture:
“Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the Lord; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work: for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts.”— Haggai 2:4 (KJV)
Devotional Reflection:
There are moments when God’s call feels bigger than our confidence.
When the task before us — rebuilding, restoring, believing again — seems heavier than what our hearts can hold.
That’s where this verse steps in like a whisper from heaven:
“Be strong … for I am with you.”
God didn’t say, be fearless because you’re powerful.
He said, be strong because I’m present.
When Zerubbabel and the people of Judah faced the ruins of the temple, the work looked impossible. The memories of what once was seemed brighter than what could be.
But God reminded them — His glory isn’t locked in the past. His presence is in the now.
Whatever you’re building — a dream, a family, a new beginning —
you don’t stand in the rubble alone.
Strength isn’t summoned; it’s supplied.
And courage grows wherever His presence dwells.
So, pick up the pieces, breathe deep, and remember —
the same God who started the work is standing beside you to finish it.
Reflection Questions:
- What part of your life feels like “rebuilding” right now?
- How does knowing God is with you change how you face it?
- What small act of faith can you take today to keep building?
Daily Wisdom Insight:
Strength isn’t the absence of weakness — it’s the awareness of God’s nearness.
Prayer:
Lord,
When I feel small before the task,
remind me that Your presence is my power.
Help me to build, trust, and move forward
knowing You stand beside me.
Let my hands not grow weary,
and my heart not lose courage.
For You are with me —
and that is enough.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
