📖 Scripture:
“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.” — Proverbs 16:3 (KJV)
Devotional:
Some work begins in our hands.
But it settles in God’s.
To commit is not to quit working.
It is to release control
over the outcome.
Solomon wrote these words
as a builder.
He knew about plans.
Measurements.
Foundations.
Structure.
But even the wisest man understood
that human effort alone
does not steady the mind.
When we carry everything ourselves,
our thoughts scatter.
When we place the work before God,
our thoughts find footing.
Commit thy works.
The dream.
The draft.
The business.
The prayer.
The unfinished thing.
Lay it before Him
without fear of losing it.
What God establishes
no anxiety can undo.
Reflection:
• What work are you carrying alone right now?
• Have you invited God into the planning — or only the outcome?
• What would it look like to release control while still remaining faithful in effort?
Daily Wisdom Insight:
Peace does not come from finished plans.
It comes from surrendered ones.
Practical Application:
Take one task
you’ve been stressing over.
Before you begin it today,
pause.
Say aloud,
“Lord, I commit this to You.”
Then do the work —
without gripping the result.
Let God steady your thoughts
as you move.
Prayer:
Father,
I bring my work to You.
The plans I’ve drafted,
the goals I’ve set,
the things I want to succeed.
Teach me how to labor faithfully
without carrying the weight alone.
Establish my thoughts.
Quiet the noise.
Anchor my mind in You.
Let my effort be diligent,
and my heart be surrendered.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
