When God Is Working Ahead of You| Psalm 105:17

“He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:”— Psalm 105:17 (KJV)

Devotional Reflection:

There are seasons in life when God's direction feels difficult to understand.

Doors close.
Plans change.
Unexpected challenges arise.

And in those moments, it can be easy to wonder if we have somehow lost our way.

Yet Joseph's story reminds us that God's purposes often unfold long before we can see the full picture.

When Joseph was sold into slavery, it appeared as though his future had been stolen.

His dreams seemed distant.
His circumstances seemed unfair.
His path seemed uncertain.

But what Joseph could not see was that God was already working ahead of him.

Every step.
Every delay.
Every hardship.

God was preparing a way.

Years later, Joseph would find himself in a position to preserve countless lives during a time of famine. What appeared to be a season of loss became part of God's greater purpose.

The same is often true in our own lives.

There may be moments when the road feels unclear and the destination remains hidden.

But God sees what we cannot.

He knows the path before us.
He understands the purpose behind every season.
And He is faithful to guide us according to His perfect plan.

Sometimes the greatest act of faith is simply taking the next step and trusting God with the outcome.

• What would it look like to trust God's direction even when I cannot see the full path ahead?

• Thank God for the steps He has already guided you through
•  Surrender one uncertainty into His hands
• Choose to trust His timing instead of your own understanding

Prayer:

Lord,

Thank You for guiding my steps,
even when I cannot see where the road is leading.

Help me to trust You in seasons of uncertainty
and to remember that Your plans are always greater than my own.

When I feel discouraged,
remind me that You are working behind the scenes.

When the path feels difficult,
strengthen my faith.

Give me peace in the waiting,
courage for the journey,
and confidence in Your promises.

Teach me to walk forward with trust,
knowing that every step surrendered to You
is never wasted.

Thank You for Your faithfulness,
Your provision,
and Your perfect timing.
